Q. How much does NetSuite cost?
A. The price of a subscription can be as little as £50 per month, depending on the requirements and nature of the solution. NetSuite is a cost saving product! By eliminating IT issues such as data storage, backup and security, upgrades, hardware, operating system dependencies and maintenance, cost of ownership can be as much as 60% lower than traditional solutions. Have you calculated the true cost of ownership of your business systems? Is your disaster recovery plan as cast iron as NetSuite's guarantee? When budgeting for a NetSuite solution, there are three main elements of cost - a). Annual license subscription, which is recurring; b). support for the system; and c). configuration, implementation and training, a 1st year cost delivered on a fixed price fixed scope basis.

Q. Why is there no price information on the website?
A. Every client has different needs. NetSuite offer Customer Relationship Management, NetSuite and Multi Company solutions. Unlike other systems, NetSuite is delivered as a functional solution to meet specified requirements. The solution includes consultation, training and support during and after delivery. NetSuite is a single platform and each solution is highly functional. It may be that your needs can be met by a standard implementation, dramatically reducing the work required to deliver your solution.

Q. Isn’t it expensive?
A. No. NetSuite offers tremendous value. One system means a single skill set and dramatic decrease in manual data entry. Guaranteed security and immunity from data loss or corruption provides huge savings in IT. Real time data with global accessibility means accurate data when and where you need it, assisting critical decisions. To compare like for like, add up all the time your business currently spends manually entering and collating data, distributing reports and information and put a value on that time. Consider the cost of employing or outsourcing IT, buying, upgrading and managing multiple systems that don’t work with each other. How much does it cost to train people in several systems? What is the true cost of not providing the training? NetSuite can reduce total cost of ownership of business systems by up to 60%.

Q. Who is responsible for my implementation?
A. As Certified NetSuite Solution providers, First Hosted Ltd is responsible for the implementation of the solution. First Hosted Ltd provides a personal level of service and acts as liaison with NetSuite. We work with clients on an ongoing basis to ensure that they are able to derive maximum benefit from their system.

Q. Can I self-implement?
A. No, but you can continue the system development once your implementation is complete. During the initial setup, there are some tasks that are carried out only once. Mistakes at this level manifest themselves throughout the lifetime of the whole system so we insist that this is carried out by a qualified NetSuite practitioner. Post implementation, our clients often choose an assisted configuration for roles, dashboards, reports and KPI’s etc. This is a “train the trainer” approach designed to equip the NetSuite champion with the necessary skills to continue the development of the system unaided. Larger projects are undertaken in conjunction with the solution provider as additional phases.

Q. What will I need to do?
A. Collaborate in the planning, consultation, data preparation and implementation and training process. Provide a NetSuite “champion” and a good level of accessibility and commitment.

Q. What is the typical process?
A. The customer specifies the desired “go live” date for the system at the time of order of NetSuite. This is usually within 30 days of the agreement being accepted. The client signs an implementation agreement which outlines the implementation program. First consultation will normally take place within 14 days of the implementation agreement being accepted. This consultation will determine the precise “scope of work”, including milestones, actions and a provisional timeline. Actions will include the client nominating a NetSuite champion, allocating time and resource, providing financial, customer, supplier and inventory data and identifying availability for delivery of implementation and training. Once the system is live and required data is received in appropriate format, the implementation process begins. Consultation and sign-off at milestones ensures that the project stays on track and meets expectation and requirements. A “train the trainer” style approach ensures maximum skill retention within your organisation. This is delivered over a series of modular web-based training sessions. Role-based training follows prior to sign off. Ongoing support is provided via NetSuite Gold support which is recommended to all new users for their first year at least.

Q. What timescales can I expect?
A. Anything from 2 weeks onwards, usually depending on how responsive and committed the client can be. The NetSuite implementation process follows proven methodology. Implementation is remarkably efficient once a clear scope of work is defined, accurate data and good accessibility is given to an appropriate NetSuite champion is provided. Typically, companies have day to day operational issues and constraints on time and availability. Inevitably, this causes delay. Additional work required to provide clean data can also be underestimated. Delayed response at the start of the implementation project, unfulfilled appointments for review can dramatically affect the delivery of NetSuite projects as implementation teams are usually scheduled up to four months in advance.

Q. Will you visit me?
A. Not usually. Our philosophy is to deliver the entire business solution via the web. Web-based communication such as online presenters and VOIP telephony provide reliable and effective means of exchange. The benefits are vastly reduced costs, eliminating travel time and expense and a much reduced environmental footprint. However, we recognise that every company has specific needs and we respond to our clients on an individual basis.

Q. What Should I expect from a NetSuite Implementation?
A. As in life, you generally get out of a NetSuite Implementation what you are prepared to put in. Deployment of a NetSuite Solution is the vehicle for significant CHANGE within your business. It will mean change for the better but there will definitely be "pain" involved. Embrace the change and your business will prosper.
Put a value on your own time. It is a common misconception that your company gets your time for free in return for your salary. Too many individuals do not place a proper value on their time in the context of daily working efficiencies. For example, how many finance directors do you know who personally back up their finance data or software and IT issues? How often do senior company officers involve themselves with time consuming manual tasks? NetSuite is a liberator of time, allowing users to focus on doing more of what makes their business successful.
Work smart, be environmentally friendly and more cost efficient. Aim to use electronic documentation and email rather than paper records. Why do companies happily pay employees to manually enter data repetitively, accepting the inherent inaccuracies and errors this creates? How many IT service organisations capitalise on growing dependencies for service and support for ever changing, ever failing world of conventional computer hardware and software? NetSuite can help you regain control of your business and independence from IT.
Be safe. How many companies were put out of business by the recent floods? What is your contingency plan? Is your database secure? Could it be lost, stolen or copied?
Why do so many businesses have “on-premise” solutions for data security, backup and accessibility? Make your disaster recovery and contingency plan bullet proof and reduce your insurance needs. Leave it to the experts, leave it to NetSuite.
